This is Rob. Personally, I think he was a great guy! We would have been married 25 years on March 1, 2021 !
In the 25+ years we had been together, he never ceased to amaze me – EVER!

Let me tell you little bit about this great guy.
If ever you needed help, Rob would drop everything to help you out!
He was offered promotions at work that would have taken him away from hockey practice, homework time, soccer games or rugby matches. He turned them down! Not that he particularly loved his job but he loved his kids FIERCELY and wanted to be home to meet them after school.
He worked in Mississauga but when we had kids, he agreed to move to Cambridge because I wanted the kids to be close enough to my parents to get to spend time with them. * I am not sure I ever even said thank you??
He was my biggest cheerleader and supporter and always had more faith in me than anyone else – INCLUDING ME!
He always went along with any hairbrained ideas that I had – like getting married on TV!
He took pride in his school and worked hard. He was a good friend to the people that he cared about at Kindree – he was like the school psychologist or counselor for staff.
He was loyal and ALWAYS kept a secret!
He was honest and valued honesty in those around him.
He was proud of his kids and the careers that they will end up in. I am glad that he got to see both of them make their choices.
He was easy to talk to and was a great listener.
He was fun and always up for a good time.
He had a great laugh that I still hear when something funny happens and I close my eyes.
He cheated at euchre but I would still give anything to deal out another hand!
He didn’t gossip and was kind to people who were kind to others. He did not tolerate people who were not kind.
He loved working in the yard and spending time outside. No one loved a campfire more than Rob!
He loved to spend time with his kids – soccer, karate, rubgy, hockey, swimming, track and field, playing in the park – it didn’t matter. He was just happy to be DAD.
He wanted a great life for his kids and pushed them hard to be their best at whatever they did.
He had an infectious smile – no, grin – that came easily to his lips that lit up his whole face BUT… he also had a vein in the middle of his forehead that we could bring out – whether we tried to or not.
He was an avid animal lover and did an amazing job “raising” his four legged kids.
He loved the outdoors and helped to instill a love of the outdoors in his family as well.
In short, I think I was so lucky to have met Rob and to have spent 27 years with him.
Even in the end of his life, which was incredibly painful and sad, he NEVER ONCE complained! He took it all in stride and worried about US rather than himself. What selflessness and fortitude! I still can’t believe how brave he ALWAYS was, even in the face of so much pain and darkness.
Thank you, Rob, for being the type of person that we should all aspire to be.
