“Man” of the House

OH. MY. GOD.!!
Luke cracks me up!! Sometimes you just need a man in the house and today that was …ME!!!!

Last night at 11:00 pm, he yelled from his bedroom into mine that he had bed bugs!

WTF. Bed bugs? There is NO WAY our house has bed bugs. I asked if there were a thousand tiny little bugs. He said, “No. One huge one!!!” So I rolled over and went back to sleep!

He, in his infinite braveness, moved to Tay’s room for the rest of the night.

Then this morning he was worried because the Killer Bug was M.I.A.

I was in the kitchen and he yelled down from his room, “It’s BACK!!!!” So, I ran upstairs to find my 6’4″ hockey-playing, construction-working, firefighter-to-be son cowering in the corner pointing to his new bedmate!!!

I said, “It’s weird that it stayed in here all night”.

His response?

“Of COURSE it did. It was stalking its prey!!!”

I took a square of toilet paper and squished it. Then flushed him.

My big brave son can sleep easy tonight …. unless it laid eggs …..

Mom for the win!!

Still LMAO

Lesson learned? Sometimes the man of the house is not a man after all!

I am just like you! A regular woman who went to work Monday to Friday, came home and did all that stuff that we all do - raised my kids, played with my dogs, worked around the house and spent time with my husband. Like most of us, I feel like I took that relationship for granted. I knew I was lucky but I didn't know HOW lucky - until January 26, 2021. The day that Rob passed away. As a way to work through this really crappy, unfair time, I thought I would start a blog. Not to whine and complain but to document those times AND the good ones! Because there ARE good times as well!
