Hi/high?

It has been a long first week back to school and it is only the end of the second day! Holy cow – how can time pass so incredibly slowly!

I came home from work, did some stuff around the house then put my pyjamas on just to be comfortable – even though it is only 7:00pm. Who have I got to impress – Luke is at hockey and as long as my pyjama-ed body keeps throwing toys, Clark wouldn’t care if I was wearing a Hallowe’en costume all night long!

I just finished cleaning up the kitchen from dinner and went out to my car to grab my school bag.

I have my slippers and pjs on.

First mistake?

Wearing the slippers that have become Clark’s favorite toy!

Actually – he just loves the right one! The one that supports my wonky ankle and that I need to have a gait that even resembles “normal”.

The tread of said slipper caught on the driveway and I fell to my hands and knees with my shorty short baby doll shorts on… a sight that really no one needs to see. Baby dolls are MUCH cuter on a baby than on this 52 year old doll!

I turned around and standing at the foot of my driveway was a lovely couple from around the corner walking their dog!

I am pretty sure they totally got a full moon right in the face!

What did they say, you may ask?

Just “Hi”.

But I am fairly certain they were likely thinking…..

“High?”

Lesson learned? Either don’t drag your feet in the driveway or reserve your pyjamas for the bedroom!

I am just like you! A regular woman who went to work Monday to Friday, came home and did all that stuff that we all do - raised my kids, played with my dogs, worked around the house and spent time with my husband. Like most of us, I feel like I took that relationship for granted. I knew I was lucky but I didn't know HOW lucky - until January 26, 2021. The day that Rob passed away. As a way to work through this really crappy, unfair time, I thought I would start a blog. Not to whine and complain but to document those times AND the good ones! Because there ARE good times as well!
