So I just bought a new shirt.
I didn’t try it on in the store because I have shopped at this particular store many times and the sizes are pretty “true to size”.
I like the colour.
I liked the material.
I liked the sale price!
I got it home, cut off all the tags (rendering it unreturnable) and then tried it on.
WTF!
No matter WHAT cut my bra is, it is going to be seen through the trapezoid shaped cut out in the front. How dumb is that? I twisted the shirt a little. Imagined a different, perhaps lower cut bra. I didn’t think I had anything that would work.
Darn it!
Even at the sale price, this was no longer the great find that it had seemed to be an hour or so before.
As I took off the shirt and got ready to put it in the “to be donated / recycled pile” (because I knew I would NEVER wear it), I started to laugh!
Why, you ask?
Because the tag was beside the cut out.
Wait…..
What does that MEAN? (Try to visualize)
The cut out was supposed to be at the BACK of the shirt! I had it on BACKWARDS!
Now I like it again! I can wear it with whichever bra I choose! Hell – it is 2021 – I can wear it without a bra if I want to (but don’t worry – I won’t) because that trapezoid opens on my BACK not my chest!
Lesson learned? Always check where the tag is before you put on an item of clothing. You may end up saving yourself a lot of embarrassment.
Mark would call this a peek-a-boo shirt
